Volunteer Involving Organisations Network Zimbabwe (VIONet Zim)

VIONET Zim is a network of progressive organizations working with and/ or for volunteers in Zimbabwe who seek to collaborate with the government, unions, think tanks, foundations, non-governmental organisations (NGOs), humanitarian organisations and the private sector to complement and value in the area of promoting volunteerism for peace and development.

VIONET Zim provides a platform for creating collective and coordinated answers to volunteerism. It support joint initiatives and ideas to: strengthen membership, support local and international campaign and improve regional networking and solidarity activities in the spirit to promote, coordinate and protect volunteerism. Clearly, volunteers as an unpaid workforce are available to further the goals and to help meet an array of needs in resource-constrained organisations. They represent one of the critical competitive advantages of the non-profit sector. Although comparable volunteer data pertaining to the public sector is elusive, we do know that volunteers are heavily engaged in public service work.
