About International Cultural Youth Exchange (ICYE Kenya)

International Cultural Youth Exchange (ICYE) is an international non-profit youth exchange organization promoting youth mobility, intercultural learning and international voluntary service, in more than 40 countries around the world with the head office in Berlin.
The ICYE Federation has a membership of about 40 countries worldwide, which exchange young volunteers between them. These youth do volunteer work in the communities hosting them as they learn about their culture.

On September 15, 1987, in recognition of “a significant contribution to the programme and objectives of the International Year of Peace, proclaimed by the United General Assembly”, the UN Secretary-General, Javier Perez de Cuellar, designated ICYE as a peace messenger.

ICYE Kenya is a member of the ICYE Federation since 1994.
As a National Committee, ICYE Kenya runs several programs such as:
• The regular Longterm ICYE exchange programme (6-12 months)
• Short Term Exchange Programme (STePs) 4-16 weeks
• European Voluntary Service (EVS)
• WeltWärts Programme
• Internationaler Jugendfreiwilligendienst - IJFD
