About Triumphant Health and Development Initiative (THAD)

HISTORICAL BACKGROUND
The Globe has faced and is currently still facing major difficulties and challenges it did not planned for. These crises ranging from civil wars, poverty, political instability, military insurgency, religious and ethnic crises, critical health situations, gross underdevelopment, unemployment, environment degradation, ignorance, hunger, children abuse, women and youths neglect, and low level of literacy, just to mention a few. This seemingly intractable and declining situation has informed a few concerned individuals to come together to conceive and initiate Triumphant Health and Development Initiative in May 2008 to help smoothen and reduce the hardship people, especially the less privileged are facing in these critical times of existence.


OUR PROGRAMMES
THAD had been offering voluntary services on Health and Development challenge, poverty reduction through capacity building and empowerment, HIV/AIDS prevention, environment, water/sanitation and hygiene issues, various sensitization and awareness creation, etc in our society. These services are on:
Promoting reproductive Health and family wellness
Awareness creation on health and development issues like maternal/ safe motherhood, neonatal care, HIV/AIDs, cancer, malaria, Tuberculosis, STIs, and other diseases.
Capacity building for individuals and families in the communities.
Awareness creation on women and girls education, development, and empowerment.
Promoting youth development and empowerment through personal development, entrepreneur development and skill acquisition.
Empowerment through micro-credit facilities and easy loan repayment plan.
Creating awareness on child right and protection and child development.
Promoting socio economic issues for vulnerable groups (widows, Orphans and the aged) through empowerment and support programmes.
Addressing rural development issues as it relates to the environment, water/ sanitation and hygiene etc
