About Liga dos Escuteiros de Moçambique
The Liga dos Escuteiros de Moçambique (League of Scouts of Mozambique - LEMO) is a non-formal and non-profit educational youth organization, founded on November 6, 1994 and a member of the World Organization of the Scout Movement (WOSM) since 1999. LEMO has around 8 000 members as of 2020, with most members located in the major cities.
Its main purpose is to contribute to training responsible young people, capable of responding actively to major national issues.
Within its educational scope, LEMO has been developing humanitarian response activities, aiming to promote peace and social well-being in communities. Such activities include support to victims and people displaced by armed violence, support for victims of cyclones and floods as well as support in the prevention of COVID-19.
