1.2 ABOUT VIONet
VIONet was co-founded by Voluntary Service Overseas (VSO) and UNV. It is a network of progressive organizations that connect volunteers who seek to collaborate with the government, unions, think tanks, foundations, non-governmental organizations (NGO) and the private sector to complement and add value in the area of promoting volunteering for peace and development. VIONet provides a platform for:
1) collective and coordinated answers and join initiatives for volunteerism;
2) exchanging information and experience on volunteerism and policy related initiatives and ideas;
3) strengthening its membership;
4) supporting local and international campaigns; and
5) improving regional networking and solidarity activities
