About KENYA AIDS NGOS CONSORTIUM

KANCO is a leading national membership network organization in Kenya with membership drawn from non-governmental organizations (NGOs), community-based organizations (CBOs), faith-based organizations (FBOs), PLHIV support organizations, learning institutions, and the public and private sector. This unique structure of membership gives KANCO a good understanding of CBO needs, citizen concerns, and engagement with government. The strong network also enhances the implementation of advocacy programs and campaigns, and it’s a platform for sustainability of the interventions in the long term.
Since its inception in 1990, KANCO has been a champion for high-quality institutional strengthening for CSOs, maximizing their ability to contribute to improvements in the health and well-being of communities. KANCO uses its capacity-strengthening tools and experience, honed from work with more than 1,200 member NGOs and communities, to drive change through advocacy, capacity building, and accountability on public policy and resources.
KANCO has partnered with USAID, EU, ACTION, PATH, GAVI, CDC, UNDP, the Global Fund among other Partners to drive change in Kenya and multiple Countries.
KANCO has a secretariat based in Nairobi Kenya, with six regional offices based in Mombasa, Makueni, Kajiado, Nakuru, Nyeri and Kakamega Counties of Kenya. These offices provide the required infrastructure for KANCO to manage and coordinate the implementation of advocacy actions, campaigns, and strategic partnerships from the community to the national level.
