About This Opportunity

✓ The Tahrir Institute for Middle East Policy (TIMEP) is currently accepting applications for its 2026-2027 nonresident fellowship cohort. TIMEP’s Nonresident Fellowship Program carves out a space for and invests in individuals whose work advances the transparent, accountable, and just societies that TIMEP is committed to fostering. The program brings together young and mid-career advocates and experts from and in the region and provides them with the skills, tools, and resources they need to bring about transformative change.

✓ The 2026-2027 cohort will be made up of up to 12 advocates, researchers, journalists, and lawyers based in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region or with significant ties to it.

Requirements

✓ At least five years of relevant work or academic experience in a field related to the proposed area of focus
✓ A bachelor’s degree in a relevant field
✓ Proficiency in written and spoken English and Arabic
✓ Demonstrated commitment to TIMEP’s mission and principles
✓ Connectivity to civil society, grassroots groups, and/or experts and advocates on-the-ground

To apply, candidates should submit the following:
✓ Resume or curriculum vitae
✓ Cover letter (the cover letter should include the applicant’s proposed mandate and a brief explanation of the topic and its importance)

✓ By way of reminder, TIMEP programs around five priority countries: Egypt, Tunisia, Sudan, Syria, and Lebanon; and around the following priority themes: governance and politics; security; economy and reconstruction; law and accountability; social movements and civil society; migration and displacement; and misinformation and disinformation.

Key Responsibilities

✓ To apply for a fellowship at TIMEP, applicants must propose an original mandate that is made up of a proposed topic and a proposed geographic focus
